A lifetime shaped by creating home.
gentlehomes was founded on the belief that the homes we create shape the way we live. It brings together architecture, development, and hands-on building experience through a single philosophy: thoughtful homes begin with thoughtful decisions.
What started as a personal pursuit has grown into a practice dedicated to helping families and communities create places that feel connected to their landscape, their values, and the generations that follow.

gentlehomes began with a single, life-changing moment—the birth of my daughter.
Standing among the towering cedars of Vancouver Island, I set out to build a home that reflected not just what we needed, but what we valued: connection, simplicity, and a deep relationship with the natural world.
Although I held a Master's degree in Architecture and had spent years designing projects across Ottawa, Montréal, and Victoria, building my own home taught me something no classroom or practice ever could. I thought I understood how to build a house. I didn't yet understand how a home could shape a life.
That experience became gentlehomes—a practice devoted to helping others create places that feel intentional, enduring, and deeply connected to the people who live in them and the landscapes they inhabit.
We believe the homes we build today shape the lives of tomorrow.
We create thoughtful homes that are healthy, enduring, and deeply connected to their place—designed not only for the people who live in them, but for the landscape and communities they become part of.
